Low Cement Castable 60 About

Low cement castables (LCC) are advanced refractory materials designed to deliver superior performance compared to conventional castables. They contain a reduced amount of calcium aluminate cement, typically below 5%, which significantly improves high-temperature properties. The low cement content minimizes the formation of low-melting phases, resulting in enhanced refractoriness, higher hot strength, and better resistance to slag and chemical attack.

LCCs are formulated with high-purity aggregates, fine powders, and dispersing additives to achieve excellent particle packing and low porosity. This leads to improved density, abrasion resistance, and thermal shock stability. They require controlled water addition and proper mixing to achieve optimal flow and placement characteristics.

These castables are widely used in critical applications such as steel ladles, furnaces, kilns, and reheating units where high performance and durability are essential. With longer service life, reduced maintenance, and better operational efficiency, low cement castables are a preferred choice in modern refractory linings.
